Claude certifications: who can take them and how they work

Can anyone take a Claude certification?

No. Anthropic says "Exams are available to members of the Claude Partner Network." Firms join the network to register their people, so if you're not at a partner firm, you can't book any of the exams.

What can you take if you're not at a Claude partner?

For an entry-level exam you can book yourself, Generative AI Leader costs $99 plus tax (50 to 60 questions in 90 minutes) and suits you if you don't code; AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01) costs $100; AUD 150 (65 questions in 90 minutes) and suits you if your company runs on AWS.

If you write Python on Azure, Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-901) costs $99 plus tax and doesn't expire. Microsoft expects knowledge of Python coding syntax, but doesn't state how long the exam is or how many questions it has.

To learn Claude itself, take Anthropic's own free courses (see which Claude courses to take first). The catch: their certificates show you finished a course, not that you passed an exam.

How are the Claude exams taken?

Every Claude exam is proctored. You take it online with OnVUE or at a Pearson test center, and Pearson VUE's waiting periods apply if you need a retake.

How much do Claude certifications cost?

Anthropic doesn't publish the price, exam length, passing score or validity on a public page. Partner firms see them after signing in, so ask your firm's partner contact.

How do you prepare?

Anthropic says: Certification preparation courses for each credential are available in the Anthropic Partner Academy. Courses that need a partner sign-in aren't listed on this site.
