How should a beginner learn AI?

  1. Learn what AI is. A short, free general course gives you the vocabulary and the limits of the tools.
  2. Learn the tool you will use. Take the provider's own course for the assistant your employer or school provides.
  3. Practise on your own work. Role-based courses for teachers and educators, HR professionals, project managers and accountants and finance professionals use examples from those jobs.
  4. Then decide on a qualification. For a recognised award, compare AI apprenticeships and funded routes by nation.

Applied Agentic AI for Organizational Transformation is listed here although the provider doesn't state a level, because its page says: "No prior experience with AI or programming is required".

What is the quickest free AI course for beginners?

The shortest free beginner courses we list are Healthcare Financial Management Association's Introduction to AI in the NHS (10 minutes), Google Workspace with Gemini: Foundations of Your AI Workflow (30 minutes) and Google's Introduction to Generative AI (45 minutes).

Do I need to code to learn AI?

Not to use AI tools well. Only courses for developers expect programming, and 105 of the beginner courses here aren't aimed at developers.
